What is an FPO in Nepal?

An FPO (Further Public Offering) is when a company already listed on NEPSE sells new shares to the public to raise more capital. You apply for it in Meroshare exactly like an IPO, and the price — often above Rs 100 — is approved by SEBON.

FPO vs IPO

  • IPO: the company's first sale of shares to the public; it lists afterwards.
  • FPO: the company is already listed, so you can compare the FPO price with the market price.
  • Both use the same Meroshare ASBA process, minimum units and allotment lottery.

Is an FPO a good buy?

Check the gap between the FPO price and the current market price, and why the company is raising money. A FPO priced close to market leaves little cushion; one priced well below it tends to be oversubscribed.

Can FPO shares be sold?

Yes. Once allotted and credited, FPO shares are ordinary shares of the listed company and trade on NEPSE.

How do I apply for an FPO?

In Meroshare: My ASBA → Apply for Issue, select the FPO, enter units, CRN and PIN. See our step-by-step IPO guide — it's the same.
