Data Sources & Methodology

Hamroshare's numbers come from the Nepal Stock Exchange and from companies' own published reports. This page lists where each kind of data comes from, how often it updates, and how the figures we calculate ourselves are worked out.

Market data

  • Prices, indices, turnover, floorsheet and broker activity come from the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). During the trading session (11:00–15:00 Nepal time, Monday to Friday) live pages refresh every few seconds; after the close they show that session's final figures.
  • Market status and holidays follow NEPSE's published trading calendar.
  • Price history is NEPSE's end-of-day data. Charts can show it raw or adjusted for bonus and right shares, so a bonus issue doesn't look like a price crash.

Company fundamentals

Earnings per share, P/E, book value, dividends and quarterly results come from the reports listed companies publish. Figures update when a company files; each financial-report page names the fiscal quarter it shows.

IPOs, right shares and other issues

Issue dates, units, prices and issue managers come from public issue announcements. A single issue is often split into tranches (project-affected locals, Nepalis working abroad, then the general public), each with its own dates, so each tranche has its own page and links to the others.

Company disclosures

Notices are collected from NEPSE shortly after publication. Where a notice states dates, ratios or amounts (book closure, bonus, dividend, AGM), we extract them into a table; the official notice text and PDF are always linked. When NEPSE publishes the same notice twice, we keep one page and redirect the other.

Daily market wraps

Each wrap is generated from the session's official closing data: index close, change, range, turnover, volume, transactions and sector performance. The opening verb follows the size of the move:

  • within ±0.2%: little changed
  • 0.2% to 1%: edged higher / lower
  • 1% to 2%: advanced / fell
  • 2% or more: rallied / tumbled

The leading and lagging sectors are chosen among sectors that carried at least 1% of the day's turnover, so a thinly traded sector can't "lead" the market.

Scores, scanners and Pro tools

Scanners, scoreboards and Pro analytics are calculated by Hamroshare from NEPSE price, volume and broker data and from companies' reported financials. They describe what the data shows; they are not forecasts or recommendations. See our editorial policy on advice.

What we keep out of search

  • Company pages for scrips that are delisted, suspended or inactive on NEPSE.
  • Promoter-share listings, which duplicate the ordinary scrip's page.
  • Dividend and financial-report pages with no data yet.
  • Notices that contain nothing beyond their title.

These pages still open for anyone following a link; they just aren't offered to search engines.

Accuracy

We publish source data as received and don't alter it. If you spot an error, the corrections process explains how to report it.
