Daily gold and silver rates in Nepal published by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FNGSDA). Three quotations: fine (hallmark) gold, tejabi (lower-purity) gold and silver — each available per tola (11.66 g) and per 10 grams.
Fine gold (also called hallmark or 24K) is the high-purity quote — it's what jewellers use for investment biscuits and bars. Tejabi gold is the slightly lower-purity (typically 22K) feed used for ornament making — it melts more easily and is preferred for traditional jewellery.
1 tola = 11.6638 grams. Nepali jewellery further subdivides tola into aana and lal:
The international gold trade quotes per troy ounce (31.1035 g) or per gram. We expose tola, 10g, aana and lal views so a jeweller quoting in any of these can verify against the Federation rate without doing the math.
Computed from today's per-tola fine-gold rate published by the Federation. Use these when buying or selling small ornament weights — most jewellers in Nepal still quote bills in aana and lal rather than grams.
| Unit | Fine gold |
|---|---|
| Per aana (1/16 tola) | Rs 17,369 |
| Per lal (1/100 tola) | Rs 2,779 |
These are the exact subdivisions of the per-tola rate. A jeweller may charge a small making-charge premium on top depending on the ornament — ask for an itemised bill with the gold weight separated from labour.
Rates are published once per business day by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association. The Federation aggregates the quotes from licensed gold importers and the daily LBMA London fix.
